This book is beautifully done. The recipes are not complicated and the directions well written. The photography is magnificent. I purchased this book after reading an article in a Hall County paper about the business and the author of the book. Friday I had an opportunity to attend a book signing to meet Mrs. Wilbanks and taste some of her pies. The author did not know me but made me feel very welcome as a true southern lady would do. Having tasted both her sweet and savory pies at the book signing, I'm excited to try the recipes in her book. This book would make a wonderful gift for anyone who enjoys southern cooking and baking.
We live near the authors shop and many people have told us about her pies. We lived the book. However, the one recipe we were most interested in, key lime pie, was not in the book. So that was disappointing but we’re still happy that we purchased it.
I am so excited about this cookbook. I was expecting it to be only pies, but I has so much more! I love the way it is organized into meals by month. The indredients are simple and recipes are easy to follow! Can’t wait to make everything in this book!
I bought a book about pies not other recipes. Very disappointed though other recipes are good thst is not why I ordered the book.
I agree with Betty Lou. If you are looking for a book about sweet southern pies, DON’T buy this book! When I opened the book, the first recipe I saw was for green peas! I may return this book. It’s just not what I wanted.
Great book for receipes
Wish I had bought the hard copy, easier to tab and make notes. Digital is ok; but not the same as having a copy to find things.
